Look, most bedding companies are obsessed with thread counts or some fancy-sounding material you can’t even pronounce. It’s all marketing gimmicks. Canaan Company started way differently—just a small workshop in Vermont where our founder was losing sleep over why most pillows feel like garbage after a few months.
Every pillow we make starts with a pretty blunt question: would we actually want to sleep on this for the next five years? We don’t do shortcuts. No flimsy shells that leak feathers the second they hit the wash. Instead, we source from suppliers who’ve been at this longer than us and then we test every single batch ourselves. There’s only twelve of us in the workshop, and if we wouldn’t give a pillow to our pickiest relatives, it doesn’t leave the shop.
Honestly, finding good sleep is its own kind of promised land. We’ve grown from one room to three, mostly because people are just tired of replacing their pillows every single year.
